WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural systems and build a future in which man lives in harmony with nature.
WWF monitors the state of natural ecosystems and biodiversity and offers solutions for their conservation and sustainable management of resources.
The main areas in which WWF works are the protection of forests, freshwater reservoirs, seas and oceans, preservation of species of flora and fauna, minimization of the use of toxic substances, climate change.
WWF in Ukraine works on several projects, including the Danube-Carpathian program with the purpose to promote the preservation and restoration of ecosystems, the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, and to coordinate the activities of WWF in the countries of the Danube and the Carpathian region.
WWF’s is instrumental in conducting research, educating, consulting state bodies and lobbying for changes to legislation, mobilizing financial resources for the implementation of programs for the study and conservation of nature. The main areas of work of WWF-Ukraine: forests, water and rare species.
