Funding opportunities

The objective is to support private sector projects involved in the generation, transmission or distribution of energy to ensure sustainable access to energy services in emerging markets and developing countries.

Support is provided for the implementation of energy efficiency measures by housing cooperatives for the purchase and installation of

• facilities that produce electricity from alternative sources,
• electricity storage systems,
• auxiliary equipment

The participation in the programme can be in conjunction with the GreenDIM programme, which provides state compensation of up to 70% of the cost of solar power plants and heat pumps for housing cooperatives.

The programme provides Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses to develop and implement climate technologies.

The ClimAcceleratoateis a global programme for start-ups to innovate, catalyse and scale the potential of their climate solutions

The develoPPP Classic Ideas Competition is a program run by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) that seeks innovative project proposals from companies aimed at promoting sustainable and socially responsible transformation in developing countries and emerging markets.

The programme supports the financing of energy efficiency investments by SMEs in Ukraine.

The Energodim program aims to support the energy modernisation of apartment buildings. HOA may receive reimbursement for the energy modernisation of their buildings of up to 60-70% of the cost of works, materials and equipment depending on the Energy Efficiency Package.

The programme is aimed at supporting private households to use alternative energy sources by providing loans for the purchase and installation of hybrid power supply systems.

The project provides various types of financial support, particularly in sectors that promote sustainable growth, innovation, and job creation.

Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation.

The IKI Medium Grants program supports smaller-scale civil society actors in developing and emerging countries by funding innovative, bottom-up projects that contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

The IKI Small Grants programme is designed to empower local and regional organizations in ODA-eligible countries to actively participate in achieving the global targets set by the Paris Agreement and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

They invest in companies that are in the field of clean-tech, which are in early stage development.

The project must benefit the local economy and be environemnetally and socially sound.

Interreg is one of the key instruments of the European Union supporting cooperation across borders through project funding. It aims to jointly tackle common challenges and find shared solutions in fields such as health, environment, research, education, transport, sustainable energy and more.

The Danube Programme supports the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), initiated in June 2011, by funding coordinated policies and actions aimed at smart, sustainable, and inclusive growth in the river basin.

The programme is part of Interreg A.
Its three priorities are:

• P1 – Environmental focus across borders
• P2- Social development across borders
• P3 – Border cooperation

Each call specifies the priority for the projects.

The Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GAGP), also known as Programme Kusanone, is a funding initiative by the Government of Japan aimed at supporting development projects in developing countries. The funding is intended to help implement projects that enhance the welfare of local communities, addressing various needs and improving living conditions.

LIFE programme is the EU’s funding instrument for the environment and climate action, which has co-financed more than 5,000 projects helping Europe to become greener.

EIT RawMaterials focuses on facilitating the transition to net-carbon-neutrality by supporting innovative solutions in the critical raw materials sector.

The program provides grants of up to $50,000 to local groups for projects in areas like biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation and adaptation, land restoration, sustainable forest management, international water management, and the management of hazardous chemicals.

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is an independent EU body focused on enhancing innovation in Europe.

Key activities financed by the programme are:

• Solar power plants -purchase of solar panels and related equipment.
• Heat pumps – installation of heat pumps and related equipment.

Financing is provided exclusively for the purchase of the necessary equipment and energy audits (70% of the expenses), but does not cover the cost of installation or installation services.

The Nefco Green Recovery Programme for Ukraine focuses on facilitating a green and sustainable reconstruction of the country following the war.
