Description

Credit Institution for Reconstruction (KfW) is a state bank of the Government of Germany, which is a leader among German banks in promoting the economic development of Germany, Europe and the world.

The total volume of the loan portfolio of active projects by KfW in Ukraine is EUR 507.5 mn (as of September 30, 2022).

Projects include:

  • loan and grant agreement for the implementation of energy efficiency measures in kindergartens and schools of the Zhytomyr City Council and Zaporizhzhia City Council as part of the “Energy Efficiency in Communities” project
  • Improving the energy efficiency of electricity transmission (Modernization of substations) project whereby NEC “Ukrenergo” implements energy-efficient modernization and automation of 8 substations in the South-Western part of Ukraine in order to meet the requirements of ENTSO-E regarding the reliability of the power transmission system and network security

The main focus of activities of KfW in Ukraine is on:

  • support of small and medium-sized businesses
  • construction and energy saving, environmental protection
  • financing of social infrastructure (water supply, energy supply, education, health care, etc.)
