Description

USAID is the world’s premier international development agency and a catalytic actor driving development results. USAID’s work advances U.S. national security and economic prosperity, demonstrates American generosity, and promotes a path to recipient self-reliance and resilience.

USAID provides development support to electricity and gas industries, renewable energy and centralized heat supply, strengthening cyber security in the energy sector, wider use of renewable energy sources, as well as promoting the integration of Ukraine’s energy markets into the relevant EU markets.
Currently USAID is implementing two projects in Ukraine in the field of climate and energy:

  1. “Energy Security” project helps Ukraine to increase the level of its energy security; the main task of the project is to help in the creation and development of free market mechanisms in the energy sector
  2. The Energy Sector Transparency Project helps strengthen Ukraine’s energy security by reducing opportunities for corruption in this sector

In cooperation with the Ukrainian authorities, private business and civil society leaders, USAID contributes to increasing the level of energy security and transforming the Ukrainian energy industry into a modern, EU-integrated, market-oriented sector that is a driver of the country’s growth.

ESP’s work is focused on helping the Government of Ukraine create competitive energy markets that will increase transparency, reduce corruption, and benefit the Ukrainian people. ESP also helps the Government of Ukraine and energy sector counterparts improve energy supply and mitigate the impacts of Russian ‘energy supply as weapon ‘ interference.
Our activities are cantered on support to Electricity, Gas, District Heating, and Renewable Energy projects, as well as cross-cutting actions that promote Gender Integration and Environmental and Social Responsibility.
